In the previous sermons we saw Paul, formerly Saul of Tarsus, now a bond-servant of Christ Jesus called as an Apostle and set apart for the Gospel introduces himself to the church in Rome and unveils the message of God’s plan of salvation according to His promises announced beforehand through His prophets in the Scriptures. Then the messenger turns his attention to the message of the Messiah, Jesus Christ our Lord. Now the Apostle Paul addresses the Saints at Rome and the responsibility, reality, and results of being called by God.
