From Futility to Hope

Scripture: Romans 8:20-21

In this sermon, the listener is challenged to consider the believer’s future hope from two perspectives: (1) the futility and frustration evidenced in creation versus (2) the freedom and glory of the children of God. By His own will, God subjected the creation to futility in hope. This hope, which prevents despair, is a confident expectation that God will act according to His character in accomplishing His will – in time and in eternity. The hope that one day God will remove the curse and bring abundant blessing is directly connected to the freedom of the glory of the children of God because of their union with Christ.
