Conscious, willful disobedience had produced devastating consequences for Israel having been exiled from the Land and sent into captivity. Zechariah's prophecy, revealed through eight visions, teaches that the time of Israel's captivity has ended, and the Lord will restore the fortunes of His people. The sovereign God, who controls all events and dealings of all people, will certainly accomplish His intended plan to save and establish His people in peace and security. Therefore, His people need no longer fear their enemies, but should faithfully trust in God for the coming millennial kingdom in which Jesus Christ, the King, will reign over His people, and they will rule with Him.
